Discover how small-scale, regenerative crops can grow into profitable markets with significant opportunities for farmers and supply chain partners.
More and more farmers are cultivating protein- and fibre-rich crops in small volumes. Think of faba beans, yellow peas, agroforestry crops such as walnuts and sweet chestnuts, or rapeseed. Cultivation is often successful, but how do you ensure your product reaches the market? And how can we help expand market opportunities for these smaller-scale crops?
On 13 November 2026, Plant Protein Forward, together with ReGeNL and The Regenerative Agriculture Community, will host the workshop “Small Crops, Big Opportunities.” During this workshop, we will explore how small-scale crops that fit well within regenerative farming systems can more successfully reach retail, foodservice, processing industries, and short supply chains.
Together with farmer cooperatives and producer organisations, buyers, processors, and supply chain experts, we will discuss questions such as: What does the market demand? What opportunities exist for Dutch-grown ingredients? And how can producers secure fair prices, even for smaller volumes?
Through plenary sessions and interactive break-out discussions, participants will gain practical insights from real-world experiences and have the opportunity to connect directly with experts and fellow organisations.
